A Wrinkle In Time, Alfred Bester, and Me

Okay, this isn’t about me.  I just needed to recognize two authors that I had previously been somewhat ignorant of, but I’ve got a new-found appreciation for their work.

Thanks to Tor.com, I was introduced to Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle In Time.  I read an excerpt on the site, and immediately bought a copy of the 50th Anniversary Edition on Amazon.com.  It’s a fantastic story, and I’m so happy to have found it.

I’m also in the middle of a book of short stories by Alfred Bester called Virtual Unrealities — The Short Fiction of Alfred Bester.  There are some great stories here, especially Fondly Fahrenheit and The Men Who Murdered Mohammed. Great stuff.  And I really like his style of writing — very urgent, if that makes any sense.

I’m still toiling away on my own work.  No. Scratch that.  It’s not toil and its not work. It’s writing.
